The Composition and Shape of Corrugated Board food box
Corrugated cardboard began in the late 18th century chocolate sweet box, and its application increased significantly in the early 19th century due to its lightweight, inexpensive, versatile, easy to manufacture, and recyclability and even reuse. By the beginning of the 20th century, it had obtained comprehensive popularization, promotion, and application for packaging various commodities. Due to the unique performance and advantages of packaging containers made of corrugated cardboard in beautifying and protecting the contents of goods, they have achieved great success in competing with various packaging materials. So far, it has become one of the main materials for making packaging containers that have been used for a long time and showing rapid development.
Corrugated cardboard is made by bonding face paper, inner paper, core paper, and corrugated paper processed into corrugated waves. According to the needs of commodity packaging, corrugated cardboard can be processed into single sided corrugated cardboard, three layers of corrugated cardboard, five layers, seven layers, eleven layers of corrugated cardboard, etc. Single-sided corrugated cardboard is generally used as a protective lining layer for commodity packaging or to make lightweight grids and pads to protect goods from vibration or collision during storage and transportation. Three-layer and five-layer corrugated cardboard is commonly used in the production of corrugated cardboard boxes. Many goods are packaged with three or five layers of corrugated cardboard, which is exactly the opposite. Printing beautiful and colorful graphics and images on the surface of corrugated boxes or corrugated boxes not only protects the intrinsic goods, but also promotes and beautifies the intrinsic goods. At present, many corrugated boxes or boxes made of three or five layers of corrugated cardboard have been ostentatiously placed directly on the sales counter and become sales packaging. The 7-layer or 11-layer corrugated cardboard is mainly used to produce packaging boxes for electromechanical, flue-cured tobacco, furniture, motorcycles, large household appliances, etc. In specific commodities, this corrugated cardboard combination can be used to make inner and outer boxes, which is convenient for production, storage, and transportation of commodities. In recent years, according to the needs of environmental protection and the requirements of relevant national policies, the packaging of goods made of this type of corrugated cardboard has gradually replaced the packaging of wooden boxes.
1、 The corrugated shape of corrugated cardboard
The functions of corrugated cardboard bonded with different corrugated shapes are also different. Even when using the same quality of face paper and inner paper, the performance of the corrugated board formed by the difference in the shape of the corrugated board also has certain differences. Currently, there are four types of corrugated tubes commonly used internationally, namely, A-shaped tubes, C-shaped tubes, B-shaped tubes, and E-shaped tubes. See Table 1 for their technical indicators and requirements. Corrugated paperboard made of A-shaped corrugated board has better cushioning property and a certain degree of elasticity, followed by C-shaped corrugated board. However, its stiffness and impact resistance are better than those of A-shaped corrugated bars; The B-shaped corrugated board has a high density of arrangement, and the surface of the corrugated board made is flat, with high pressure bearing capacity, suitable for printing; Due to its thin and dense nature, E-shaped corrugated boards exhibit even more rigidity and strength.
2、 Corrugated waveform shape
The corrugated paper that constitutes corrugated cardboard has a corrugated shape that is divided into V-shaped, U-shaped, and UV shaped.
The characteristics of the V-shaped corrugated waveform are: high plane pressure resistance, saving adhesive usage and corrugated base paper during use. However, the corrugated board made of this corrugated wave has poor cushioning performance, and the corrugated board is not easy to recover after being compressed or subjected to impact.
The characteristics of the U-shaped corrugated waveform are: large adhesive area, firm adhesion, and a certain degree of elasticity. When impacted by external forces, it is not as fragile as V-shaped ribs, but the strength of planar expansion pressure is not as strong as V-shaped ribs.
According to the performance characteristics of V-shaped and U-shaped flutes, UV shaped corrugated rollers that combine the advantages of both have been widely used. The processed corrugated paper not only maintains the high pressure resistance of V-shaped corrugated paper, but also has the characteristics of high adhesive strength and elasticity of U-shaped corrugated paper. Currently, corrugated rollers in corrugated cardboard production lines at home and abroad use this UV shaped corrugated roller.
