Characteristics and printing skills of water-based ink for corrugated paper chocolate box
Water-based ink is an environmentally friendly ink product that has received widespread attention in recent years pastry box. What is the difference between water-based ink and general printing ink, and what are the points that need attention in use? Here, Meibang will explain it in detail for you.
Water-based ink has been used in the printing of corrugated paper for a long time abroad and for more than 20 years at home. Corrugated paper printing has developed from lead printing (relief printing), offset printing (offset printing) and rubber plate water washable printing to today’s flexible relief water-based ink printing. Flexible relief water-based ink has also developed from rosin-maleic acid modified resin series (low grade) to acrylic resin series (high grade). The printing plate is also transiting from rubber plate to resin plate. The printing press has also gradually developed from single-color or two-color presses with large rollers to three-color or four-color FLEXO presses.
The composition and characteristics of water-based inks are the same as those of general printing inks. Water-based inks are usually composed of colorants, binders, auxiliaries and other components. Colorants are the colorants of water-based ink, which give the ink a specific color. In order to make the impression bright in flexographic printing, the colorants generally use pigments with good chemical stability and high coloring power; The binder consists of water, resin, amine compounds and other organic solvents. Resin is the most important component in water-based inks. Water-soluble acrylic resin is usually used. The binder component directly affects the adhesion function, drying speed, anti-sticking performance, etc. of the ink, and also affects the gloss and ink transmission of the ink. Amine compounds mainly maintain the alkaline PH value of the water-based ink, so that the acrylic resin can provide better printing effect. Water or other organic solvents are mainly dissolved resins, Adjust the viscosity and drying speed of the ink; Auxiliary agents mainly include: defoamer, blocker, stabilizer, diluent, etc.
As water-based ink is a soap composition, it is easy to produce bubbles in use, so silicone oil should be added as a defoamer to inhibit and eliminate bubbles, and improve the transmission performance of the ink. Blockers are used to inhibit the drying speed of water-based ink, prevent the ink from drying on the anilox roll and reduce paste. The stabilizer can adjust the PH value of the ink, and can also be used as a diluent to reduce the viscosity of the ink. The diluent is used to reduce the color of water-based ink, and also can be used as a brightener to improve the brightness of water-based ink. In addition, some wax should be added to the water-based ink to increase its wear resistance.
Water-based ink can be mixed with water before drying. Once the ink is dry, it will no longer be soluble in water and ink. Therefore, the water-based ink must be fully stirred before use to keep the ink composition uniform. When adding ink, if the residual ink in the ink tank contains impurities, it should be filtered first, and then used with new ink. When printing, do not let the ink dry on the anilox roll to avoid blocking the inking hole. Blocking the quantitative transmission of ink causes printing instability. During the printing process, the flexplate should always be wetted by the ink to avoid blocking the text pattern on the printing plate after the ink is dry. In addition, it is found that when the viscosity of water-based ink is slightly higher, it is not appropriate to add water casually to avoid affecting the stability of the ink. You can add an appropriate amount of stabilizer to adjust it.
